Meet the team!

As part of the build up and preparation for this year’s festival, we wanted to introduce you to some of our dedicated team members who play a crucial role in making the festival a success each year. These individuals bring their unique skills and passion to the table, working tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure everything runs smoothly. We are incredibly thankful for the many partners and volunteers who support us along the way; their commitment and enthusiasm create a vibrant atmosphere that enhances the experience for all attendees. Here are just some of the key players and contributors who help bring our vision to life, making this festival a memorable event for everyone involved.

Sam Hodkinson – Joint North Ayrshire Mental Health Arts Festival Lead and Engagement officer for Mental Health Services – NAHSCP

Sam has been joint lead for our North Ayrshire Mental Health Arts Festival over the past two and a half years along with Claire Gray-Wilson, where they have collaboratively worked to create a vibrant platform for artists and individuals to express their mental health journeys through various art forms. Sam qualified as a staff nurse in 1993 and has had a varied career working across acute and critical care areas within the NHS as a charge nurse and nurse lecturer, gaining invaluable experience. Following a post grad in Community Learning and Development a number of years ago, Sam has enjoyed a range of roles supporting communities and for the past 2 and half years has been the mental health services engagement officer within North Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership. Sam is passionate about mental health and wellbeing, community development and how the creative arts can allow us to engage in ways we would not be able to do using more traditional methods.

“We are excited about another year running our Mental Health Arts Festival along side the Mental Health Foundation and really looking forward to delivering a jam packed community programme for everyone to enjoy again!”
